I think alot of factors played here. Gomi hasn’t had many fights in the past five years and those he had were with less than stellar opponents and he looked pretty bad compared to his true abilities even when he won some. Why it pays of to continue to play with the best in orde to develop character(like any other sport)His work ethic and conditioning has been questionable and along with the UFC jitters, exhausted him prob more than even usual. I also think he looked past Kenny as he sometimes has a habit of doing. ex) he was in the Casino wee hours in the morning on the day of teh Diaz fight. I also tghink he had no specific game plan/strategy for Kenny but just relied on his punching power. that doesnb’t work againt smart fighters. also,His biggest hole has always been sub defece. Shinya Aoki’s training mate, can’t recall the name right now submitted him within two minutes of 1st round 2-3 fights ago. Gomi is past prime not in the physcial age terms but some fighters just get burnt faster than others. Can Gomi beat Florian. yes, but not in his current state of mind and dicipline level. -

kenny will never be the lightweight champion. he has no chance agianst bj, maynard or edgar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
