I honestly think that the Katar had a massive advantage over the Roman’s axe. Could use the Katar 2-3 times within the time it takes to swing that axe once and the range isn’t long enough to make up for it. I’d feel a lot more comfortable wielding a Katar any day.

the Roman centurions wore chainmail under iron plate armor, and the gladius was meant to be used with the shield not on it’s own. The Shield was barely even mentioned. This episode didn’t show how an actual centurion would fight. Romans also proved in the conquest of Northern europe that a sword reach advantage was anything but. Ceasar’s Legions at one point wiped out an entire army of 35,000 with only 9,000 soldiers and the European were using everything from battle axes to four foot long swords. Rome’s main rival Carthage threw everything they could at Rome including elephants, so I imagine that a centurion wouldn’t be to confused by the rajputs weaponry.

Hmmm, i still don’t know whether I think the Rajput deserved the win. I think the whip and the chakram were pretty much useless, as the romans shields / armour would negate that. That being said, the katars and the big sword were pretty sick. Still think the Centurion should have won though.

It could go both ways IMHO. Army vs, I would give it to the Romans (not on the scale of 35,000 Vs 9,000 though), but 1on1, I think either one has a good chance of victory.
A pity the shield didn’t get much love in the show.

Here we are considering the rajput vs centurian after the indian down fall and indian rajputs are highly skilled deadly warriors where they needs to spend years to learn it. It used to take arround 17 years to learn the full art. This episode was sick, Rajput clearly won because of their skill in martial arts and fierce weapons. If they showed how actually rapjuts fight in particular the Sikh Rajputs, the Romans would defiantly shit their pants.
