  1. Well…Wasnt a fan of Cain, thought he was a boring wrestler. He proved me and many other pundits wrong. That dude may just be the future of UFC’s Heavyweight Division. Don’t think Brock can take a punch like that.

  7. why are so many people riding Brock’s jock. He is not proven. 5 fights doesn’t make you invincible.
Fight game is skills game not the size game. only good win Brock has is over super-overrated mediocre at best Mir. 70lb lighter(walking weight) Randy pushed him and controlled him much of 1st round. people stop following Dana’s hype like a blind sheep. Make you sound ignorant.
Personally, I think Cain would destroy Brock.

  8. People who truly know something about MMA/Boxing knowsthat styles make fights. UFC is notorious for feeding their “chosen Stars” easy match up for them stylistically to make them look good.Ex) By their own admission Tito was the man b/c they gave him guys who matched up poorly against his style and skill set(peopel with bad take down defense). When matched up with someone with good style, he got pummeled.
Chuck Liddell- fed wretlers with poor to mediocre striking. Chucks best asset-take down defense. matched up with strikers- chuck got k’o'd over and over. Brock – Heath Herring again deliberate and calculated favorable match-up for Brock as Herring has poor take down defense. Randy- good style wise against Brock but 70lb lighter. Mir- bad take down defense, mediocre stand up. they won’t match Brock with a good striker with excellent take down defense (worst style for Brock) b/c they know Brock would get Ko’d

  9. We really don’t know how good is Brock’s wrestling till we see him out wrestle a guy like Cain or Shane. A good double leg doesn’t make you a good wreslter, out scrambling and out positioning your opponent makes you a good wrestler. Cain is fast with good postioning, Shane is big dude bigger then Lesnar so we’ll have to see how good Lesnar is against an exact duplicate of himself.

  10. Cain also has superior hands, kicks, footwork, ground and pound. He is indeed smaller and maybe not as strong, but using speed and agility, overall skill adv to get better positioning where he can get Brock in a compromising position will negate that strenght difference. Leverage will win out over pure strenght. there are angles in which even the biggest and teh strongest muscles can’t generate much torque or force. Physics can’t be changed. There is also a point of dimishing returns when it comes to size. Why most super heavyweights never faired well because along with that size comes, lack of speed, agility, endurance, and most importantly reflexes. Brock is an exception for a man his size because he is Relatively fast and agile and why there is so much hype over him but saying he’s just too huge is not a valid comment. UFC is a business, they will create the hype and create matches to enforce that hype to brainwash/undermine the uneducated b/c it brings in the $$$$. He may one day may prove to be best, but hasn’t proved anything yet by beating opponents that were deliberately matched up poorly vs his attributes/skill set. whether his opponents were big names doesn’t matter, whether his oppoenents styles were matched up well matter more. so far, they haven’t let him face someone who matched up well against him.

  11. Still think Cain is overrated. He got picked apart by Kongo and couldn’t finish him on the ground, despites Kongo’s lack of any ground game. The only reason Nog lost and will continue to lose is because the refs have no respect for his fighting style. If you look at all the fights he won in pride, if fought in the ufc, most would have been stopped by the ref and ruled a tko. Nog was never out when he lost to Mir and he was never out against Cain. This is the reason why I miss Pride. The refs made sure the fighter was out, before stopping the fight.

I agree to some degree. Cain has yet to fully bloom but he is much better than Lesnar and has so much more weapons, he at least deserves ‘some’ of the hype.(my rant was mainly on Cain vs Brock) But hype is what UFC is known for and why purer fans truly miss Pride.(see my earlier post) Pride did indeed let the fighting go on a lot longer and was a purer org. Esp considering Nog. He took beating from Fedor that was unreal and still survived, took a left leg from Crocop and survived. Nog was down but not out in both fights vs Mir and Cain. However, having 3-4 staph infections within I think a 8 month period definitely was a huge if not the deciding factor as well as all the beatings he took in his career. I don’t know if he would have been able to come back in his condition although it def is a possibility for someone like Nog so I felt it was premature as well, but I guess most are not like nog in this respect. UFC is too much politically/marketing driven.,and I really miss Pride. Please bring it back.

  13. SST… your saying cain vs nog shouldn’t have been stopped? he knocked him out, nog wasn’t defending, just think if he would of took 3 or 4 more of them shots, he could of slipped into a coma or worse, as a referee you have to think of the fighters safety. pride was almost anything goes, that doesnt exist anymore because pride wasn’t going to attract fans because it was almost like a dirty sport with head stomps, soccer kicks, where as mma nowadays has brought the level of mma a whole lot higher… i agree with you on the fact that the UFC is infact a poor poor example for the sport of mma, they just wanna make money and dont think about fighters or fans, but cain destroyed brock, and is now champion. you cant argue that, people who have just watched UFC all their life are all tools, they dont understand mma as a sport. whereas if you vary in organisastions, you have more of an understanding of what the sport is really like, fedor back in pride was by far the greatest, but nowadays he is a small fat heavyweight, there are some welterweights who are bigger than him, i love mma as a sport and i just hope people realise one day that dana white and the UFC are just using mma as a sponge to make money for themselves, they pay fighters poor money, what do you think they do with the rest? they pocket it and dont care about anyone or anything, you may think im an idiot, but im sure most of you will all agree that the story i have just written is the absolute truth even if some people dont like it. that is just an opinion, i hope you all see what my point is and support my views. WOW. what a long post lol.

    Peace guys.
